Working with me
If you would like to discuss whether I might be the right therapist for you, please feel free to send me a brief email or text message, or complete the form.
I will try to get back to you within a few days; this may be longer if I am away. My initial step is usually to arrange a time where we can speak on the phone for ten or fifteen minutes, to answer any questions you might have, to see whether it feels to both of us that we might be able to work together, and to go over some practicalities around fees and session times.
I first meet with clients for about three sessions, in order to hear their story and assess whether I feel I can help them. This is also a chance for clients to get a feel of how I work, and to decide if I am the right therapist for them. A therapist can be incredibly helpful to one person, and not at all the right fit for someone else - it is important that you listen to yourself carefully.
After that, if a client and I both feel we can work together, we would probably meet on a weekly basis for some time. Long-term psychotherapy can last for months or years; clients may sometimes finish therapy and then return in the future if they decide to do another piece of work.
